TweedStart has provided
opportunities to angling clubs, those with access difficulties, women, children's organisations and the over fifty-fives
and has featured at local events such as the Border Union Show.
TweedStart works closely with the education sector by integrating
the project into the curriculum in primary and secondary schools throughout the Tweed catchment. Local schools host
the TweedStart Roadshow and enjoy field trips to the TweedStart Teaching Centre at The Roxburghe Trout
Fishery. Here they learn about all aspects of fly fishing and environmental education in a waterside environment.
During the course
of the year, TweedStart runs approximately 50 education days, which are open to both children and adults. These days are professionally
led by TweedStart's qualified Angling Development Officer Eoin Fairgrieve A.A.P.G.A.I.
