A TWEEDSTART DAY
 
Health and Safety - all participants provided with inflatable life jackets and protective eye wear
 
Entomology and Pond Dipping
 
Fly-tying - e.g. trout, salmon, seatrout and grayling flies
 
The Tweedstart Interactive Presentation e.g. the life-cycle salmon and trout, the work of the Tweed Foundation, importance of angling tourism
 
Angling Heritage and History
 
Conservation, protection and disease prevention (e.g.gyrodactylus)
 
Fly casting - professional tuition in overhead and role casting techniques - all tackle provided

UP AND COMING EVENTS

TweedStart Days 2009

Classes from 23 Primary Schools in the Borders have attended TweedStart days this Spring. In addition, Schools were invited along to an Educational Day at Springwood Park in Kelso at the beginning of May, in advance of the 2009 Tweed Angling Fair.
